Open Space
The Drury South Crossing concept design seeks to work with the existing topography and structure of the basin to provide approximately 90 hectares of open space for the public to enjoy. An open meadow environment is being developed with a network of pedestrian and shared paths to provide an enjoyable recreation experience.
The development of the public space represents the ecological, cultural, and natural landscape values of the area. This includes the restoration and enhancement of the Hingaia and Maketu Streams, which meander through the shared spaces.
A unique wetland environment is also being established which connects the public to wider green spaces and a network of paths.
